Issues

  1. Three or Five Commissioners? — State law does not allow two commissioners to talk to each other about pending legislative issues until a public meeting because that would constitute a quorum. Local legislative bodies are not permitted to make legislative decisions outside of public meetings. With five commissioners, two can talk to each other because two do not form a quorum. I would seek to implement a better form of government, one that permits teamwork, discussion, and debate plus checks and balances

  2. Hold Focus Groups — If elected, I will hold focus, preferably Six Thinking Hats focus groups, frequently so citizens, experts, and leaders may review, revise and remove regulations. Suppose I invite you to an internal focus group. With the current commissioner structure, the other two cannot attend but their policy advisors can. Should you attend three focus groups, one for each commissioner? Our government structure needs to be revisited.

  3. Lower Property Taxes — I would vote to reverse the property tax increase and to eliminate all non-essential government.

  4. Masks and Shutdowns — I never would have voted to force businesses to shut down nor for people to wear masks, especially children in schools. Let people make their own decisions.

  5. Regulations — Perhaps everyone who tried to make progress that required permission from the county government knows there are regulatory problems. Since no regulations are footnoted and few meeting minutes exist, all regulations must be open-sourced for group discussion so they can be documented, updated, or deleted.

  6. Protection Against Tyranny — The vaccine passports (known as the social credits system in China) must not be allowed in Utah County; if allowed, resistance against government tyranny will be even more difficult. To control your life, the number of features tech can add are innumerable

  7. Utah’s Noxious Weed Act Criminalizes all Landowners with Noxious Weeds
  8. In Utah County, 96% of Citizens Live in Just 4% of the Land Inside Incorporated Cities
